ABOUT ME
When I was in Middle School, I would gather up the neighborhood kids and teach them random things I had learned in summer school. I guess I had teaching in my veins since I was very young! My passion is to get people excited about learning. I love tailoring topics to individual interests, understanding and background knowledge to increase intrinsic motivation. I also enjoy helping students discover how they learn best because we each gather information differently.
I have always been interested in world languages and the process of acquiring them because it opens up new worlds and paradigms. There are some words and phrases that just can't be accurately explaind English! Taking Spanish in High School and spending 18 months in Taiwan instilled a spirit of teaching language to others.
I taught High School Biology in LA for 7 years and have found an added affinity toward helping Middle and High School kids with academics and career goals.
